Meet the Founder
I’m Connor O’Keefe, and I’m the founder of CEOrobo. I wanted to give a little background about myself and why I started this business.
I’ve been competing in VEX for 9 years, spending most of my time on V5RC team 3249V and then helping create and compete on VEX U Team KUdos
Throughout my whole time in robotics, outside of a working robot, I always wanted my robot and team to look and feel cool. This ranged from making custom stickers for my teams robot, to anodizing every part, to adding RGB lights.
In my time on KUdos, I had this same desire to make things look great. In Over Under, I thought that we should add something to make our controllers unique and easy to identify, as well as make them look awesome. I tried adding some vinyl wrap by hand, but I quickly found that I wasn’t happy with the results I was getting and I was worried about cutting into the controller. So I began designing a template for a vinyl skin, and after 10+ iterations I made a design I was satisfied with.
I saw that there was interest in the VEX robotics community for something like this, so I began selling these skins on the side. Now I’m turning it into a full business, because I think that with as much work as you put into your robots, you deserve to have them look even more awesome than they already are!
